A SUCCESS STORY

Fred's Story

Congratulations to one of our original and long time guest Fred who is now in permanent housing!   Since coming to stay at the Enfield Safe Harbor Warming Center for the Homeless when we first opened in the winter of 2015 Fred had been homeless for many years. With a scooter as his only source of transportation and a way to carry all of his belongings, Fred traveled around the Enfield area looking for places he could sit  and rest during the day and a safe space outdoors to sleep at night while the warming center was closed for the season and is well known in the community.

His Home on Wheels

He always expressed that all he wanted  to do was to live in “Senior Housing or a Senior Apartment”

Through the collaboration of Community Services providers in Enfield and the dedicated staff of Enfield People for People/Enfield safe Harbor Warming Center for the homeless Fred is now where he wants to be and is loving every minute of it!
